We are dedicated to providing exceptional guided wild camping trips, offering Adventurers an immersive experience in nature. By booking a trip with us through our Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure clarity and transparency in our relationship with you as a participant.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully, as they outline the rights, responsibilities, and expectations for both Adventurers and the company. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected].

2. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, the following terms shall have the meanings set forth below:
- "Company": Refers to Hammock Haven, a business registered in the Netherlands that organizes and operates guided wild camping Trips under the chamber of commerce number: 96269235. Molenweg 25, in Zoutelande.
- "Website": Refers to the official website of the Company, accessible at https://www.hammockhaven.eu, where Adventurers can book Trips and access relevant information.
- "Adventurer": Any individual who books or participates in a Trip organized by the Company.
- "Trip": A guided multi-day wild camping experience organized by the Company, which may include hiking, overnight stays, and other related activities.
- "Add-ons": Optional services or equipment offered by the Company for an additional fee, including but not limited to camping gear rental, food packs, and cooking equipment.
- "Base Price": The standard cost of a Trip, covering the guided experience, camping permits, and any transportation explicitly included in the Trip details.
- "Booking": A confirmed reservation for a Trip made by an Adventurer through the Website, which serves as a contractual agreement between the Adventurer and the Company, subject to these Terms & Conditions.
- "Cancellation Policy": The terms governing an Adventurer’s right to cancel a Booking and any applicable refund, as outlined in Section 6.
- "Force Majeure": Unforeseeable circumstances beyond the Company's control that prevent or significantly hinder the fulfillment of a Trip, including but not limited to severe weather conditions, natural disasters, pandemics, or government-imposed restrictions.
- "Terms" or "Terms & Conditions": This document, which outlines the legal agreement between the Adventurer and the Company regarding the use of services, participation in Trips, and other related matters.
- "GDPR": The General Data Protection Regulation, a European Union law governing the collection, processing, and protection of personal data to ensure privacy and security.
- "AVG": The Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG), the Dutch implementation of the GDPR, establishing legal requirements for the collection, processing, and storage of personal data to protect individual privacy.
3. Eligibility
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all Adventurers, the following eligibility criteria must be met:

Age Requirement:
- Adventurers must be at least 18 years old at the start date of the Trip.

Physical Fitness:
- Adventurers must be in good physical health and capable of hiking a minimum of 5 kilometers per day while carrying a backpack weighing approximately 10 kilograms.

Health and Safety:
- While no formal medical fitness declaration is required, Adventurers must ensure they are in adequate physical condition to safely participate in hiking and camping activities.
- It is the Adventurers' responsibility to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies or medications that could affect their ability to safely complete the Trip. The information provided will be kept confidential and used only in case of emergency.

Travel Insurance:
- Adventurers are required to have valid travel insurance that covers hiking, outdoor activities, and medical emergencies. The insurance must be active for the entire duration of the Trip.

Personal Responsibility:
- By booking a Trip, Adventurers affirm that they meet the eligibility criteria and accept full responsibility for their own physical and mental preparedness.

Check Your Booking:
- Adventurers must carefully review their booking confirmation email to ensure that all details, including dates, times, and selected products/services, are correct.
- If any discrepancies are found, Adventurers must contact Hammock Haven within 7 days to correct them.

False information:
- If the information is falsified, proportional measures will be taken during the trip. There is no right to a refund in the event that the Trip is terminated early.

Communication & Contact Details:
- The contact details provided at the time of booking are the Company’s primary means of communication with the Adventurer. It is the Adventurer’s responsibility to ensure that the provided information is accurate and up to date.
4. Booking Process
The booking process for our guided wild camping trips is designed to be simple and transparent. By completing a Booking, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
4.1 Making a Booking
- Adventurers can book a Trip exclusively through the Website (www.hammockhaven.eu).
- A Booking is only considered valid once the full payment (or a required deposit, if applicable) has been successfully processed.
4.2 Payment & Confirmation
- Payment must be made via the available payment methods available on the Website.
- Upon successful payment, the Adventurer will receive an automatized booking confirmation email with Trip details and a receipt.
- If no confirmation email is received within 24 hours, the Adventurer must contact the Company to verify the booking status.
4.3 Changes to Bookings
- Changes to an existing Booking (such as trip dates or Add-ons) may be requested but are subject to availability and potential additional fees.
- The Company reserves the right to decline booking modifications requested less than 30 days before the Trip start date.
- The Company reserves the right to adjust the Foodpack if certain items are unavailable due to stock shortages or other unforeseen circumstances. Any adjustments will be made with consideration for dietary preferences and nutritional needs.
4.4. Incomplete or Failed Bookings
- If a payment fails or a Booking is left incomplete, the Company is under no obligation to hold the reservation.
- The Adventurer must complete the booking process again to secure a spot.
4.5. Group Bookings
- For group bookings, the individual making the reservation is responsible for ensuring all group members meet the Eligibility Requirements Section 3 and are informed about these Terms & Conditions.
4.6 Discounts
- The Company may offer discounts on the Base Price and/or Add-ons at its discretion.
- Discount availability, terms, and conditions (e.g., deadlines, eligibility) will be clearly stated on the Website or promotional materials.
- Discounts cannot be combined unless explicitly stated otherwise.
4.7. Changes to a Booking
4.7.1. Adding an Adventurer
- Requests to add an additional Adventurer to a Booking must be made in writing or via email at [email protected] at least 30 days before the Trip start date.
- Approval is subject to availability, and additional fees may apply.
4.7.2. Replacing an Adventurer
- If an Adventurer is unable to attend, they may transfer their Booking to
another person, new Adventurer, at no additional cost, provided that:
- The request is made at least 14 days before the Trip start date.
- The new Adventurer meets all Eligibility Requirements Section 3.
- The new Adventurer accepts the original Booking details, including any Add-ons selected by the previous Adventurer.
- If the new Adventurer wishes to modify any Add-ons, changes will be subject
to the following terms:
- The new Adventurer must inform the Company 7 days before the start date of the Trip to adjust any Add-ons. Informing the Company of the desired meal plan in accordance with the Foodpack if applicable.
- If the new Adventurer wishes to request a refund for the purchased Add-ons, these terms are outlined in Section 6.1.
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 Pricing
- All prices are listed in EURO (€) unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- The Base Price for each Trip includes only those services and items specifically outlined on the corresponding Trip’s page on the Website.
- Optional Add-ons, such as camping gear rental, Foodpack, or cooking equipment, are available for an additional fee and can be selected during the booking process.
5.2 Payment Terms
- Full payment (or a specified deposit, if applicable) is required to confirm your booking.
- If a deposit is allowed, the remaining balance must be paid by the deadline specified in the booking confirmation. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking.
5.3 Taxes and Fees
- Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Any additional fees, such as currency conversion fees, and/or other payment processing charges, are the Adventurer's responsibility.
5.4 Late Payments
- Late payments will incur additional charges.
- If the Adventurer fails to make the payment of the Booking on time or if the
payment is incomplete, the Company is entitled to charge the Adventurer
extrajudicial collection costs in accordance with the Dutch Decree on
Extrajudicial Collection Costs (BIK). The collection costs are calculated as
follows:
- 15% on the first €2,500, with a minimum of €40 and a maximum of €375
- 10% on the next €2,500
- 5% on the next €5,000
- 1% on the next €190,000
- 0.5% on amounts exceeding €200,000, with a maximum of €6,775
- The Adventurer will be notified of any collection costs incurred, these will be added to any outstanding amount and will be due immediately.
5.5 Refunds
- Refunds are subject to the Cancellation Policy outlined in Section 6.
- No refunds will be issued for payments made after the Trip has commenced.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to balance flexibility for Adventurers with the logistical needs of organizing our Trips. The following policies apply to cancellations and refunds.
6.1 Adventurer Cancellations
- Cancellation Deadlines and Refunds:
- More than 60 days before the Trip start date: Full refund of the total Booking price.
- Between 30–60 days before the Trip start date: 50% refund of the total Booking price.
- Less than 30 days before the Trip start date: No refunds will be issued.
- How to Cancel:
- Adventurers must notify the Company in writing via email at

- Full Name, as used during booking.
- Booking Number, found in the confirmation email.
- Reason for Cancellation, optional but helps us improve our services.

- Important Notes:
- The cancellation date will be determined by the time and date the email is received.
- The Company will confirm receipt of the cancellation request within 3 business days. If no confirmation is received, Adventurers should follow up to ensure their request was received.
- Refunds will be processed and transferred within 14 days of the confirmed receipt of the cancellation request.
6.2 Company Cancellations
- In the unlikely event that the Company cancels a Trip, Adventurers will be
offered the following options:
- A full refund of the Base Price and any Add-ons purchased.
- A free transfer of the Booking to a future Trip of equal value.
- The Company is not responsible for third-party expenses (e.g., flights, visas, accommodations) incurred by the Adventurer.
6.3 Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)
- If a Trip is canceled, postponed, or modified due to Force Majeure
events—these events include but are not limited to extreme weather, natural
disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, or any other circumstances that
are beyond the control of the Company—the following applies:
- The Company will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the Trip.
- Refunds for Force Majeure cancellations will be evaluated case-by-case, prioritizing fairness and safety.
- The Company bears no liability for additional costs, losses, or inconveniences resulting from Force Majeure events.
6.4 Travel Insurance
- The Company strongly recommends that Adventurers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering Trip cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, lost equipment, and Force Majeure events. The Company is not responsible for any financial loss due to an Adventurer’s failure to secure adequate insurance.
7. Adventurer Responsibilities
Our Trips are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable adventure. However, outdoor activities inherently involve risks, and by participating, Adventurers acknowledge and accept the following terms regarding risk, liability, and personal responsibility.
7.1 Assumption of Risk
- Adventurers understand and accept that participating in hiking, camping, and
other outdoor activities involves inherent risks, which may include but are not
limited to:
- Injury from physical exertion, falls, or unpredictable terrain.
- Exposure to adverse or rapidly changing weather conditions.
- Encounters with wildlife, insects, or other environmental hazards.
- Delays, disruptions, or discomfort caused by natural events or other unforeseen circumstances.
- By booking a Trip, Adventurers voluntarily assume these risks and acknowledge that while reasonable safety measures are in place, not all risks can be eliminated. Participation is at their own discretion and responsibility.
7.2 Company Responsibility
- The Company is committed to maintaining high safety standards, including:
- Providing trained guides with safety equipment, e.g. first aid kits.
- Offering clear guidance and instructions for safe participation.
- However, the Company shall not be held liable for:
- Personal injuries, illnesses, or accidents occurring during the Trip, except where caused by the Company’s gross negligence.
- Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.
- Delays, cancellations, or disruptions due to factors beyond the Company’s
control, including but not limited to:
- Weather conditions.
- Government actions.
- Force Majeure events (as defined in Section 6.3).
7.3 Adventurer Responsibility
- Adventurers are fully responsible for their own actions, decisions, and
preparation during the Trip. This includes:
- Assessing and ensuring their physical and mental fitness for the activities involved.
- Following all safety instructions provided by trip leaders and guides.
- Bringing appropriate gear for outdoor conditions, including clothing, footwear, and necessary equipment.
- Respecting local laws, customs, and environmental regulations.
- Adventurers must ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance that covers the activities involved in the Trip, including outdoor adventure activities, medical emergencies, cancellations, and evacuations.
7.4 Third-Party Services
- Certain aspects of a Trip (e.g., transportation, permits) may be provided by
independent third parties. While the Company selects reputable providers, it
does not assume liability for:
- Service failures.
- Delays or cancellations caused by third parties.
- Acts, errors, or negligence of third-party providers.
- Adventurers acknowledge that any disputes must be handled directly with the third-party provider.
7.5 Indemnification
- Adventurers agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its employees,
guides, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses resulting
from:
- The Adventurer's participation in the Trip.
- The Adventurer's failure to comply with Company policies or safety guidelines.
- The Adventurer's negligence or misconduct during the Trip.
7.6 Emergency Situations
- The Company will take reasonable steps to respond to emergencies, including:
- Providing first aid assistance where possible.
- Contacting emergency services if necessary.
- Coordinating evacuation efforts in remote locations.
- However, Adventurers acknowledge that:
- Access to medical care may be delayed due to the remote nature of the Trip.
- The Company is not responsible for medical costs, rescue expenses, or evacuation fees.
- Adventurers must carry insurance that covers emergency medical care and evacuation.
- In life-threatening situations, Adventurers authorize the Company to arrange for emergency medical treatment at their expense, if they are unable to provide consent, and agree to reimburse the Company for any costs incurred in providing such treatment.
8. Company Responsibilities
The Company is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and memorable adventure while maintaining high safety standards, environmental stewardship, and clear communication.
8.1 Provision of Guides and Support
- The Company will provide trained guides who:
- Hold Medical First Aid (MFA) certification.
- Ensure Adventurers receive support throughout the Trip, including:
- Guidance during hikes and camp setup.
- Safety instructions for navigating terrain and weather conditions.
- Assistance with group dynamics to foster a positive experience.
- The Company will notify Adventurers of the assigned guide prior to the start of the trip. In the unlikely event that the guide becomes unavailable due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, the Company will provide a qualified substitute guide or offer alternative arrangements.
8.2 Safety and Emergency Preparedness
- The Company is responsible for implementing safety protocols before and
during the Trip, including:
- Equipping guides with first aid kits and emergency supplies.
- Providing clear safety briefings on:
- Proper use of hiking and camping equipment.
- Weather preparedness and hazard avoidance.
- Monitoring conditions and making real-time adjustments to ensure group safety.
- Emergency Response:
- In the event of an emergency, the Company will:
- Take reasonable steps to ensure Adventurers’ safety.
- Provide basic first aid within the scope of a guide’s certification.
- Contact emergency services and local authorities if needed.
- Coordinate evacuation efforts when necessary.
- In the event of an emergency, the Company will:
- Limitations:
- The Company will make reasonable efforts to communicate with local authorities and emergency services, but access to immediate medical care may be limited due to the location and nature of the Trip.
- The Company is not responsible for medical expenses, rescue costs, or evacuation fees. Adventurers must have insurance covering these risks (see Section 7.3).
8.3 Transportation and Logistics
- The Company will provide pre-Trip communications, including:
- Meeting point details and how to reach it.
- Itinerary breakdown, including activity expectations.
- Packing lists and preparation guidelines.
- Limitations:
- The Company does not provide or cover transportation to and from the meeting point unless explicitly stated in the Trip details.
- Adventurers are responsible for ensuring they arrive at the designated meeting point on time. The Company is not liable for any delays or missed connections caused by the Adventurer's failure to arrive as scheduled.
8.4 Environmental Stewardship
- The Company is committed to responsible and sustainable outdoor practices,
including:
- Following Leave No Trace principles, ensuring minimal impact on nature.
- Proper waste disposal and minimizing single-use plastics.
- Respecting local wildlife and ecosystems, including maintaining appropriate distances.
- Obtaining necessary camping permits and complying with all local environmental regulations.
- The Company may modify itineraries when necessary to protect fragile ecosystems or comply with conservation laws.
- Adventurers are expected to follow the Company’s environmental guidelines and are responsible for minimizing their personal impact on the environment.
8.5 Equipment and Gear
- The Company will:
- Inspect and maintain any gear provided by the Company for the Trip.
- Ensure that all Company-provided equipment is in good condition and safe for use.
- Limitations:
- Adventurers are responsible for their personal gear. The Company is not
liable for:
- Loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
- Improper use of personal equipment leading to injury.
- Adventurers are responsible for their personal gear. The Company is not
liable for:
- Adventurers must return any Company-provided gear in the condition it was issued, normal wear and tear excepted. Any damage or loss due to misuse or negligence will be charged for repair or replacement.
8.6 Communication
- The Company will maintain clear and timely communication with Adventurers
before, during, and after the Trip, including:
- Pre-trip support for questions about the itinerary, gear, and preparation.
- On-trip updates, including real-time changes due to weather or safety concerns.
- Post-trip follow-up to gather feedback and address concerns.
- Trip Modifications & Postponements.
- If a Trip must be modified or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, the
Company will:
- Notify Adventurers as soon as possible.
- Offer alternative solutions, such as rescheduling or refunds (see Section 6.3).
- The Company also ensures compliance with all local regulations and provides required permits.
9. Medical Emergencies
Ensuring the safety and well-being of Adventurers is a top priority. However, due to the remote nature of Trips, immediate medical assistance may not always be available. This section outlines Adventurer responsibilities, Company response procedures, and fitness-to-continue policies.
9.1 Adventurer Responsibilities
- It is the Adventurers' responsibility to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies or medications that could affect their ability to safely complete the Trip. The information provided will be kept confidential and used only in case of emergency.
- Adventurers should also inform the Company of any conditions that may require special accommodations or affect their ability to follow safety guidelines during the Trip.
- Adventurers are responsible for:
- Carrying sufficient supplies of personal medications for the entire Trip.
- Informing guides of any emergency medical instructions related to their condition (e.g., use of an EpiPen).
- Ensuring their fitness for participation (see Section 7.3).
9.2 Response to Emergencies
- In the event of a medical emergency, guides will take reasonable steps to:
- Administer basic first aid as needed.
- Assess the situation and determine if professional medical assistance is required.
- Contact emergency services and coordinate evacuation if necessary.
- Ensure the Adventurer reaches appropriate medical care, to the extent possible given the Trip's location.
- Limitations:
- The Company does not guarantee immediate medical assistance due to the remote nature of Trips. In certain remote or hard-to-reach areas, the time to access professional medical assistance may be prolonged due to the location's inaccessibility.
- The Company is not responsible for medical expenses, rescue costs, or evacuation fees. Adventurers must have travel insurance that covers such incidents (see Section 7.3).
9.3 Fitness to Continue
- If a guide determines that an Adventurer is unfit to continue the Trip due to
illness, injury, or other medical concerns, the Company reserves the right to:
- Modify the Adventurer’s participation in the Trip.
- Arrange for early departure at the Adventurer’s own expense.
- Seek medical consultation (where possible) to assist in decision-making.
- The Adventurer will be informed immediately if a decision is made to modify their participation or arrange for an early departure. This decision is made in the best interest of the Adventurer's health and the safety of the group. If the Adventurer disagrees with the decision, they may appeal to the trip leader or a designated senior guide.
10. Privacy Policy
The Company is committed to protecting the personal data of Adventurers and ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and the Dutch AVG.
10.1 Data Collection and Processing
- Personal data, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and other necessary details (e.g., emergency contact information, dietary preferences, and medical conditions like allergies or medications), will be collected and processed solely for the purposes of managing the Trip, fulfilling legal or operational requirements (e.g., obtaining camping permits, ensuring safety, or providing necessary accommodations), and meeting health and safety obligations.
10.2 GDPR and AVG Compliance
- All data is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG).
- Adventurers have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data at any time unless required for legal purposes by law (e.g., tax purposes).
10.3 Marketing Communications
- Personal data will not be used for marketing purposes without the explicit consent of the Adventurer.
- Explicit consent must be provided in a documented form (e.g., through an opt-in checkbox or a signed agreement). Verbal consent is not sufficient under GDPR and AVG standards.
10.4 Marketing materials
Use of Visual Material
- Recording and Use of Visual Material
- During the wild camping trips organized by the Company, photos, videos, and other marketing materials may be taken. This material may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the website, social media, print materials, and other marketing channels of the Company.
- Consent Upon Booking
- By booking a trip with the Company, the Adventurer agrees to the possible recording and use of visual material in which they may be visible.
- If a Adventurer does not wish to have their visual material used, they can indicate this in advance via the booking system simply by not selecting the designated consent checkbox.
- Withdrawal of Consent
- If a Adventurer objects to the use of specific visual material after the trip, they may contact the Company at [email protected]. A review will be conducted to determine if and to what extent the material can be removed.
- No Compensation
- Adventurers are not entitled to any form of compensation for the use of their visual material for the purposes stated above.
11. Intellectual Property
The Company retains ownership of all intellectual property associated with its business, including but not limited to Website content, branding, and Trip materials.
11.1 Ownership
- All content on the Company’s Website, including text, images, graphics, logos, and videos, is the intellectual property of the Company and is protected by copyright laws.
- Any materials provided to Adventurers as part of the Trip, including itineraries, guides, instructional content, videos, and images, are owned by the Company and may not be reproduced, shared, or used in any manner without prior permission.
11.2 Trademarks
- The Company’s name, logo, and branding elements are registered trademarks and may not be used without explicit written or emailed consent.
11.3 Prohibited Use
- Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification of the Company’s intellectual property, whether for personal or commercial purposes, is strictly prohibited.
- Adventurers and third parties may not use any part of the Company’s intellectual property to create derivative works or for any unauthorized purposes.
11.4 Exceptions
- Adventurers may share photos or Trip experiences on social media or other platforms for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided that it does not infringe upon the Company’s intellectual property rights or misrepresent the Company’s brand. Any use for commercial purposes or in a manner that could harm the Company’s reputation is strictly prohibited.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 Applicable Law
- These Terms & Conditions, and any disputes arising out of or relating to them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands.
12.2 Jurisdiction
- All legal disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Middelburg, the Netherlands.
13. Amendments to the Terms
13.1 Right to Amend
- The Company reserves the right to modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
13.2 Notification of Changes
- Adventurers will be notified of any significant changes to these Terms & Conditions via email. Changes will also be published on the Website.
- Adventurers who do not agree to the amended Terms may choose to cancel their Trip and receive a refund in accordance with the Cancellation Policy. Continued participation after the publication of the changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
- Changes will take effect immediately upon publication unless stated otherwise.
13.3 Acceptance of Changes
- Continued participation in the trip or use of the Company’s services after amendments to the Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
